5 Questions for an Eye Specialists

eye specialists

Visiting an eye specialist is the best way to ensure that you have healthy vision. While not quite as scary to most people as visiting a dentist, there is still a certain element of fear involved.
If you want to feel better about your visit, make sure to ask your eye specialist these five questions before, during, and after your exam. You might be surprised by what you’ll find out.

What's Included?

This should be a basic question for any doctor; you need to know what you are paying for.  By finding out what’s included, you’ll stay informed about all of the different procedures and itemized costs for each part of the exam.

Has There Been Any Change?

Always ask  if there have been any changes since your last visit. While most changes are usually related to age, you’ll want to make sure that you stay informed about all possible issues.

Is There Anything I Should Worry About?

Make sure to ask your doctor about any possible signs of glaucoma, vision loss, or any other eye issues that might occur.  Such things as, lifestyle changes to genetics might put you at risk.

Do My Lenses Protect Me?

It's always a good idea to ask if your prescription lenses help to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. This is primarily a question for those who wear prescription sunglasses; yet, it’s still a good question to ask –especially since new lens technology has become quite helpful for your eyes in other ways outside of corrective vision.

What Can I Do in the Future?

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure; so make sure to ask your eye specialist about the changes that you can make to your current routine. If you can help to prevent further deterioration, future eye exams will become a lot easier on you.
